The Corporal is an intermediary between the military and the police forces of The City. Apart from Frank, he is the only person in the prologue to communicate with Jake via radio. He is first met in person by Jake on the top floor of an apartment where the latter is taking a sniping position. He assumes command after Frank's assassination. The Corporal's current status in the aftermath of the Prologue is unknown.

Prologue: We Have a Situation

The corporal is first seen in the top floor in the apartment building watching over the hospital. He then gives Jake a shotgun before he he leaves the apartment.

Later, the corporal assumes command of the operation following Frank's apparent death and leads a squad to storm the mall's parking lot.

It is currently unknown what happened to the corporal following the aftermath of the prologue and the city outbreak that followed.

Trivia

• Despite appearing multiple times within the Prologue, the Corporal's role is relatively minor and the only important action he does is to send in SWAT backup for the player during the Mall section. His appearances on-screen are somewhat rare and brief, he also tends to disappear right after these sequences are over.
• The Corporal vanishes completely after Jake opens the gate into The Parking Garage.
• This character has no official name.
